Once lived a man
as tall as a tree
looked scrawny and wan
was one hundred and three.
When the Treeman died
in no coffin he'd fit
men got their shovels and cried
they'd have to dig a large pit.
He was wrapped in old tarps
and lifted by crane
women played harps
as they lowered him in.
The dirt was put back
as fast as they could
they threw in a sack
from which a sapling would
intertwine with the Treeman
and grow as tall as the Treeman once stood.
